Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

It annoyed me that the “Waveshare RP2350B Plus W” didn't work with Webmite. Now it works with Webmite 6.04.00RC1.

Board profiles are a really really stupid idea that mean every different board needs a different binary. MMbasic works on the basis of soft allocation of pin functions e.g. OPTION PSRAM PIN so that different boards can be used. Waveshare have got this completely wrong by not following the Raspberry Pi standard for pin allocation of the CYW43. It would be much better to ignore this board until they get it right than create on-off hacks to support it.You are free to do as you wish but your code is a one off variant of an old version. Let me be very clear, I will not support anyone who uses it. The correct way to handle this board if needed is to create a new option to specify the cyw43 pinout.

I see it differently. It’s not a “really, really stupid idea” to grant access to “Webmite” to users who—for whatever reason—“own Waveshare boards that (in Donald’s words) were designed by ‘a very stupid person.’” In a DIY project, I decide for myself which pins to use. What’s important to me is that the Wi-Fi works — no matter which pins are used. I’ve always thought it was a good idea to use “Webmite” on as many breakout boards as possible for all kinds of DIY projects.

That isn't what I said. It is the concept of board profile that is stupid. It creates the situation where every different board has its own compilation and its own binary - look at the Micropython github for an example of how out of hand this gets. MMbasic does not lock in specific pin configurations it allows the user to specify them in S/W. If the waveshare is to be used properly then this is the correct approach: OPTION CYW43 PINS nn,nn,nn,nn. Otherwise multiple different binaries are needed and that is unsupportable.

Yes!!!
Waveshare users are going to love this. With a little soldering, all the pins are accessible.
