hi there
does anyone have a diagram to rewire a smartdrive 42 pole 80 series to
80 2x7 delta
i have been reading up on powerspout ect and by the look at 1532rpm on a hydro unit this should produce 1160w is that correct?

open to any thoughts or suggestions on this,
seems the link on here to the rewire page is not currently working for me.

i have a couple of options wired up at the moment 42 pole 7x2c delta and 42 pole 7x2c star
the install location is remote so wanted to be covered .

thanks
Glenn

Search this site for (F&P stator rewiring). That has the info your looking for.
Good luck.

Glennc, what did you decide and how did it work out?

I built a hydro unit for a friend, it's wired 7X2C Star.  When running I'm getting 90V, it's to high to use as is, I'm wonder what my options are?

Would wiring to Delta give me lower voltage given the same RPM??

Looking up some videos on wiring generators Delta will have a √3 increase current and therefore a √3 decreased voltage.   Giving me roughly 52v assuming everything else is constant.

Do I have that correct?

What voltage are you running in battery's? 24?

I have mine as delta 7x2c with a water pressure of 150psi
The voltage freespooling is up around 120v
But under load on a 24v system it works perfectly.
The out put is approx 1000w and has been working flawlessly.
You will need a controller to dump excess power.
But it has been running a house now for approx a year with no issues

No batteries planned yet. This will be a load sensing grid tied setup. The 90v was with a 600w load.  We are going to increase the load to over 1000w and remeasure the voltage, but the plan is to require to Delta reddit Electrical engineering has confirmed it should give me 58% of the current voltage.

The inverter we are planning will have a dump resistor.
